For this week of co-exist, we were told to watch the film Design "Disruptors" by "InVision". This film showed designs of top companies and the power it holds. In this film, designers from the world's top leading companies will share their opinion and views on how the concept design disruptor have become in the 21st century.

A few things that I picked up while watching the film was :

Design is human, as designers we have to be good problem solver, we are not artificially creating a something just for the sake of it but we are actually create something that the people would need and want. It is not all about being pretty and aesthetically pleasing, it is more about the connection that we have to it. As the world is changing, the things that usually matters will also change, that is how our job is to look at a problem in different angles and solve old world problems using the new world technologies that we have today.

In creating something there are 4 tiers which is Visual design, how the design will look like, Interface design which is where would the bits of pieces go in the design, User Experience how the user will use it and Product design which is if are we building the right thing and does it fit into the right context which is the product and someone's life. We should find ideas that are difficult to understand, difficult to talk about issues and make them into a tangible item that can actually be talk about

I also learnt about the Design Sprint which is a 5 step process which is a week long exercise, it takes you from having inkling of ideas or worries about risks or potential successes and go and validate those with customers by the end of the week. On the first day it is to create a deadline which follows the 5 step process. Understanding is the first one which is to understand the problem and issues, second is diverge which is finding a solution to these problems. Third is to create and decide on your idea and make it into a tangible item after is the forth step, it is to create a prototype, The last step is to get validation and feedback's from your customers. Before we design anything we should have a goal which is why there is the Design Sprint process.
