HANAN NABILAH ALI HASSAN

STUDENT

My name is Nabilah Ali. I chose this course because unlike other subjects that I have taken this allows me to freely create an artwork without the need to follow 'instructions' that will limit my style and freedom. I hope this will broad my knowledge and improve my creativity allowing my piece to be seen as'different than others'.

My first thoughts on the main brief was how should I experiment and explore different aspects of KL, where should I go to and how. What is it that i should find and develop onto that.

My thoughts on the two articles were there more to learn to be a designer, not just to create something that 'looks pretty' or 'to fit the image' but to also to put meaning and an emotional expression for others to acknowledge the effects that were put into an artwork.

My favourite piece that i created is the stilled life piece which includes what i wanted to become in the future. What my dreams as a child was like, what memories these items have bought back to me and how my 'dream' now has become to be. For example, the violin symbolises my dream of becoming a violinst and reminding me of asking my dad for months to buy me a violin. The crown, wanting to become princess, dressing up as a princess for a school competition which also lead me to winning the prize (it was a book by the way), etc.
