Cindy Sherman -  American artist whose work consists primarily of photographic self-portraits, depicting herself in many different contexts and as various imagined characters.

Her work “Complete Untitled Film Stills” was one of her most popular work. It was a series of 70s black and white photographs of herself portraying different women in performance media. In 1980s, she started using large prints and colour films in her photography. And she focused more on the lighting, costumes and her facial expressions.

Jeff Wall - Canadian artist best known for his large-scale back-lit cibachrome photographs and art history writing. Wall has been a key figure in Vancouver’s art scene since the early-1970s.

The photograph addresses the issues of the male gaze which is a topic that is often been analyzed, discussed and debated within the art world in the years surrounding this photograph’s creation and display. Picture for Women was inspired by Edouard Manet’s painting, A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (1882) in which the figures are also similarly reflected in a mirror. A female bartender with an emotionless expression could be seen standing in the center of the frame as if waiting for the man’s order. The back of the woman’s body and the face of a man facing her can be clearly seen reflected in the mirror.

William Eggleston -  American Photographer, uses Colour Photography as an artistic medium and Dye transfer process.

William Eggleston became famous for taking color photographs of everyday life and portraits of average people. He captured details of the world around him and helped establish color photography as an art form.
