WEEK 2 - 4 Fields of Design By Tharp and Tharp 2006

In this blog I will be talking about the 4 fields of the design by Tharp and Tharp 2006 which a Commercial Design, Experimental Design, Responsible Design and Discursive Design.

Commercial Design :

Commercial Design is to create products that are usable and affordable that is specially targeted towards the consumers. The success of the product can be known for its profit earned.

Experimental Design :

Experimental Design is there the designers experiment, explore and discovery different outcomes.

Responsible Design :

Responsible Design is the design that are useful, usable, and desirable products that are largely ignore by the market. The design focus on helping/coping issues, this design can also relate back to Commercial Design.

Discursive Design :

Discursive Design is to communicate their message in their artwork towards the audience. The artworks are usually seen in exhibitions, print or film. Their artwork is to raise awareness and understanding on issues.
