On this blog post we will be having a quick study on Keith Haring who is an American artist. He creates art that would give more awareness towards topics such as safe sex and AIDS awareness. He had already been interested in art even as a child because he would watch cartoon designs of Walt Disney, Charles Schultz and illustrations of Dr. Seuss. And he spent most of his time with his Father drawing which had been their hobby together.
In 1988, Keith Haring had been diagnosed with AIDS which caused him to create artwork relating back to AIDS to bring up the awareness and he made a foundation to support children's programs and organisations.
In his work, he usually uses bright colours and bold lines so it is very clear for people to see. One of the reason could be because he started his art with pop art and graffiti art. One thing that I've notice in his work regarding the awareness of AIDS is that he uses very few and simple words to give out his message very clearly and loud and the use of solid colours.

Another protest artwork that I picked was 'The Guerrilla Girls' which are a collective of females who remain anonymous by wearing guerrilla masks. They are a group of women who fight against discrimination.
