Design Process -
What is Graphic Design and its role?
Graphic design evokes emotion into their ending product and delivers a message that can give people an emotional feeling. Also giving a product a meaning and function. Interact with different industry (advertisement) and able to conceptualisation ideas defined by clients. Communicate process through verbal and visual concepts. Using their own personal experience, knowledge and creativity in different ways to fit the guidelines. However, regarding outside of following the demands of clients and companies, a designer also have their own subculture and narrative where they are free express their own style which can also be an influence to their work.

What is Design process?
Before a finish product, processes are made by experiments, trials and research. Most people don't acknowledge the process that goes behind a finish product and simply pass them by invisible and unacknowledged with how much work there goes through making a fulling functional ending product.
In this generation, designer now than back in the 1700s - 1800s have to experience and have empathy towards the clients and who they are targeting their product too to convey a emotional meaning that will make people buy a certain product or persuade and convince them. This makes the 'process of a product' more important now then than by using their own story/journey/skill/mindset. Designers now can convey their product through a story/narrative and their own style to make it more personal rather than just a piece with no 'special meaning'. Because of this designers constantly discover and gather more knowledge by reading books or trying to put themselves in the perspective of someone else to understand what matters most in all different types of products. The process can also by more fluid and a freedom of expression based on their perspective to fit into the criteria. No wrong or right processes. In conclusion, this process allows designers to create the perfect outcome that will be presented to the public audience.

DIVERGENT / CONVERGENT
During our class lesson today we learned about the difference between divergent and convergent. Divergent is the first process that goes through a designing process, focuses on creating all types of different ideas even the most crazies, dreamy and playful. It opens up to any type of possibilities. Convergent focuses on a certain idea that is the most promising possible outcome and throws away the other ideas that were made through the divergent process.

Turning a Book Into a product ( BOOKEY )
In one of the workshop we were given a book, paper, pencil and a rubber. My group of four people were given the book as our object to experiment different ideas that can be used by a book, this can also be called the 'divergent' process. Later on after picking the most relevant to our main possible outcome, we decided on creating a hidden nightstand that will attract consumers which went through the 'convergent' process. We named our product 'Bookey', the 'book' stands are the object that was given to us and the 'key' symbolise the hidden safe inside the nightstand.
